What ReckonClaims is

ReckonClaims is consumer software that helps you understand and respond to medical bills, insurance claim denials, and related paperwork. It is not a law firm, healthcare provider, insurer, billing company, or medical-coding service. Outputs are educational drafts, not legal, medical, billing, coding, or final insurance advice.

Accounts

ReckonClaims is usable without an account in most flows. If you choose to sign in, you may do so with your Google account via Firebase Authentication. Signing in lets us:

• Remember your subscription tier across devices.
• Sync your usage counters (document analyses, chat messages) per month.
• Restore your preferences (language, theme) when you switch browsers.

We never sell your account data. You can sign out at any time. You can delete your account from the Privacy center, that removes your Firebase record, cancels any active subscription, and forgets your tier.

Cookies, cache, and browser state

• Authentication cookies from Firebase keep you signed in until you sign out. They are first-party (from this site).
• Language + theme cookies store your UI preferences. First-party. Set when you change the language or theme switcher.
• Browser cache stores app code, fonts, the static Spanish translation dictionary, and service-worker style assets so the site loads fast and works offline-ish. Nothing PHI here.
• IndexedDB holds your case data, uploaded documents, extractions, generated letters, and chat history. By default these stay in your browser only and never reach our servers.

Subscriptions and billing

We offer three monthly subscription tiers: Intro ($5), Basic ($15), and Pro ($20). Billing is handled by Stripe; we don’t store your card details. You can cancel from the Account page at any time. Refunds: within 14 days of your last charge, just email support.

Data and PHI

Your documents and any extracted billing details stay on your device by default (Phase 1 storage = browser IndexedDB). When the chat assistant or Transcript Feeder is used, the relevant input is sent to our transcription/chat endpoints for processing, see the Privacy center for the exact payload contracts. We do not retain audio uploads on the server after transcription completes.

Acceptable use

• Don’t upload documents you aren’t authorized to act on.
• Don’t use ReckonClaims to commit fraud or misrepresent facts on appeals.
• Recordings of phone calls may be subject to state two-party consent laws, confirm consent before recording.

Limitation of liability

ReckonClaims is provided on an as-is basis. Results are not guaranteed. For specific legal questions please consult a consumer-protection attorney; for medical questions please consult a clinician. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

We may update these terms occasionally. We’ll note the date at the top.
